New service offers free HITECH guidance
Posted on Thu, Mar 29, 2012 - 09:56 amWhile it’s hard to imagine a healthcare provider who doesn’t have some familiarity with the HITECH incentive program, it’s not hard at all to imagine that many providers still haven’t found time to make enough sense of it to decide whether or how to participate.
So those providers may find some value in a new, free information service recently launched by Proxy Capital. Dubbed MaxEHR.com, the website aims to provide doctors and other medical professionals with the information they need to maximize their incentives and productivity from adopting and using EHRs.
While there’s no shortage of information available to providers from a number of sources, this one does seem particularly user friendly.
For example, there’s a “7-minute EHR Guide”, which may be the best, short walk through the process – from learning about EHRs to training your staff to reporting and receiving incentives – that we’ve seen.
Also interesting is a “Top EHR Products and Vendors” page, which lists the top 50 vendors as determined by how many federally funded Regional Extension Centers recommend them.
According to Dr. Bob Coates, CEO at Proxy Capital, “MaxEHR.com makes it faster and easier to find accurate, up-to-date information on the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs, including contact data, program guides, and EHR vendors. The overall design is visually appealing and uses the latest Web 2.0 technology.”
In addition to the quick guide and vendor list, the MaxEHR.com website also includes multiple directories pointing to key program-related EHR information and resources, including:
* Regional Extension Center (REC) contact information
* State Medicaid agencies incentive program contact information
* Meaningful use objectives and clinical quality measures
* Certified EHR systems and vendors
In addition to the website, MaxEHR.com will be offering free newsletters and web apps tailored to the specific needs of its member doctors and other health care professionals.
